The Lives of Lee Miller - A lecture by Anthony Penrose - 12th July 2010
Lee Miller was a great American photographer with many facets. A surrealist artist and model, a fashion portrait and travel photographer as well as a war journalist, best known for her surrealist images and friendship with Pablo Picasso and the many photographs she took of him.
In 1977, after the death of his mother, Anthony Penrose established the Lee Miller Archive which is now world famous. He lectures all over the world on his parents' work and involvement in the modern art scene of the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s.

Pittenweem Arts Festival Workshop
After a successful workshop in 2009, Changing Ideas will again be hosting a workshop "Documenting the Festival" during Pittenweem Arts Festival, which takes place this year 7th-15th August.
This photographic workshop will run across the opening weekend, starting on Friday afternoon, to photograph the setting-up of the galleries and opening night, recording the events of Saturday, culminating with the night's firework display, and wrapping up on Sunday morning with a group edit of the material produced, which will then become an exhibit at the festival.
The workshop is ideal for any keen amateurs who want to improve their photographic skills. Participants will be given full reign to document every aspect of the festival, learning the rudiments of documentary photography in the process. The workshop will be an exciting period of frenzied activity and will help produce a unique record of the annual festival.
The workshop will be led by photographers Rick Booth and David Graham, both experienced photojournalists.
Maximum 8 per workshop
The workshop will be using digital cameras and you will need to bring a laptop with editing software on Sunday morning.
Tickets: £20
